Sensei Henrik Larsen – 7th Dan, Denmark Chief Instructor

Henrik Larsen is currently ranked Seventh Dan in the IOGKF and has been the Chief Instructor for IOGKF-Denmark since 1986.
 
In 1994 he was appointed to sit on the IOGKF international executive committee council, making him their longest-serving member.

Henrik Larsen was born in Nykøbing F., 4 March 1960 and in 1975 at the age of 15, began his career in Karate.

His training started in the style of Kyokushinkai under Ole Johansen. Soon after the style changed and became Goju Kai Karate. Finally in 1985, he decided to switch to Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate, under Morio Higaonna Sensei - Now 10th Dan in Goju-ryu.

Henrik Larsen has taught in over 13 different countries and is firmly know as a senior instructor at the major International Gasshuku’s worldwide.
 
In 1993, Henrik Larsen was appointed Ærsmedlem of Danish Karate Federation and in 1994 Higaonna Sensei presented Henrik Larsen with his Shihan certificate.
 
In 1980, Henrik Larsen founded the Nykøbing F. Karate Centre, which today is one of the world's largest and strongest Karate clubs, with close to 100 black belts.
Besides being IOGKF Danish Chef Instructor, Henrik Larsen is also Chief Instructor and sports chief of Nykøbing F. Karate Centre.

In 1998, as a parallel to his Karate training, Henrik Larsen completed his training as an elite and competitive coach at the University of Southern Denmark. Thus making Henrik Larsen the first in Denmark to take the training, which is the highest coach training, one can achieve in Denmark.

The Honbu Dojo in Naha on Okinawa, was where Henrik Larsen graded and passed his Seventh Dan in November 2006. He was accessed by Higaonna Sensei, Terauchi Sensei and Bakkies Sensei. His 7th Dan was recognized by the WKF (World Karate Federation) in 2008.

Henrik Larsen er i dag 7. Dan og har siden 1986 været Chefinstruktør for IOGKF-Danmark.

I 1994 blev han udnævnt til at sidde med i IOGKF internationale eksekutive råd, hvilket gør ham til det længst siddende medlem. Henrik Larsen er født i Nykøbing F. den 4. marts 1960 og i en alder af 15 år i 1975, startede Henrik Larsen sin karriere inden for karate.

Træningen startede i stilarten Kyokushinkai under Ole Johansen, siden blev det til Goju Kai Karate, for så til sidst i 1985, at skifte til Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate under selveste Morio Higaonna Sensei 10. Dan.

Henrik Larsen har undervist i over 13 forskellige lande og er fast instruktør ved de store internationale Gasshukuer verden over.

Henrik Larsen blev i 1993 udnævnt til Ærsmedlem af Dansk Karate Forbund og i 1994 udnævnte af Hihaonna Sensei Henrik Larsen til Shihan.

I 1980 stiftede Henrik Larsen Nykøbing F. KarateCenter, som i dag er en af verdens største og stærkeste karateklubber, med tæt ved 100 sortbælter.

Udover at være Dansk Chefinstruktør er Henrik Larsen også Chefinstruktør og SportsChef for Nykøbing F. KarateCenter.

Sideløbende med sin karatetræning færdiggjorde Henrik Larsen i 1998 sin uddannelse som Elite-og konkurrence træner på Syddanske Universitet. Dermed blev Henrik Larsen den første i Danmark, der tog uddannelsen, der er den højeste træner uddannelse, man kan opnå i Danmark.
